Agenda:

6:00pm - 6:30pm: Registration and Networking
6:30pm - 6:35pm: Opening remarks by Anna Cho
6:35pm - 7:05pm: AR + CV Demos (TBD)

  • uSens
uSens Inc develops inside-out hand and position tracking technology for augmented/virtual reality. Based on computer vision and deep learning algorithms, uSens 26DOF hand tracking and 6DOF position tracking software is the industry's most robust path to highly interactive user experiences on both mobile and tethered ARVR platforms. uSens software can be integrated into ARVR systems at scale based on stereo vision reference designs.

  • Mirra
Mirra is a design tool that allows anyone to create professional quality AR and VR experiences – without 3D expertise and without code.

7:05pm - 7:35pm: Lulu LaMer, Producer - Daydream AR/VR, Google

Talk Title: "Immersive Computing with ARCore"

Lulu LaMer is a senior producer in Daydream's 3rd party AR/VR content group. Before coming to Google, she was studio director at experimental AR/VR/video games studio Funomena, preceded by many years in AAA console & PC games from System Shock 2 to the Borderlands series.

7:35pm - 8:05pm: Jerry Carollo, Optical Architect, Google

Talk Title: "AR/VR HMD Optics & Displays"

Jerry joined Google in 2015 and has been involved with a number of optical projects across the company.  He started at Google X and has been involved in most of Google’s AR/VR projects.

The recent “wave” of AR/VR Head Mounted Display (HMD) expansion, has yielded advances in optics/display technology in areas such as; light field displays, the vergence accommodation conflict (VAC), high PPI displays, reducing motion to photon latency (M2P), achieving wide fields of view (WFOV) and non-classical optical systems. Clearly, advancing on these areas and others is critical to eventually meeting AR/VR’s promise of enhancing the human experience by making computing more immersive and natural. However, as the technology advances, industry should not overlook the classical tenets of sound HMD design. This presentation will touch upon these new and exciting areas while highlighting the importance the basics.

8:05pm - 9:00pm: Networking
