Yohei Nakajima has been supporting early-stage startups for 15 years across a variety of stages from inception to growth. He currently works at Scrum Ventures, a Bay Area based seed and Series A fund where he sits on the investment team and leads their innovation consulting arm - which works with organizations such as Nintendo, Dentsu, and Panasonic. At Scrum, he led the investment in, and sits on the board of Misapplied Sciences, a Redmond based startup that took Keynote stage at CES this year alongside Delta. Prior to Scrum, Yohei helped spin up the Disney Accelerator at Techstars, before leading the Techstars-wide effort to include startup recruitment, working alongside 30+ investors on finding great startups.
Renee Ryan has 25 years of building category-creating healthcare companies. Prior to joining Cala as CEO in August 2019, she led the health technology investments for Johnson & Johnson Innovation (JJDC) on the West Coast and Asia Pacific for 8 years. While at J&J, she made over 15 new investments, including the Series A for Cala Health. Previously, she was a healthcare investment banker at RW Baird, Jefferies and Goldman Sachs.
Maya Kanehara is a facilitator, executor, and mentor. She is passionate about innovative technologies and services that transform lives. She has over 15 years of experience in product development for tech companies like Twitter, Apple, and Autodesk. Prior to her current role as a Managing Director at SSI Incubator, she was a VP of Growth and Development at Digital Garage US, where she strengthened and maintained a centralized business development process for existing and new portfolio companies and partners for investment teams. Maya mentors early stage startups at 500 startups, Alchemist Accelerator, and Orange Fab.
