Jonathan is an early stage VC at Scrum Ventures in Silicon Valley who supports, empowers and invests in ambitious founders and globally focused startups helping to build smart societies for a better future. He invests across a wide range of technologies, including AI, robotics/automation, AR/VR, and data/cloud/IOT across key industries such as digital healthcare/wellness, education, food tech, and logistics, among others. On the edtech side, Jonathan manages Scrum's investment in Empowerly, an innovative and personalized college and career counseling platform.
Jonathan is part of the 2019 AgGrad 30 Under 30 class, was a speaker at the Forbes Under 30 Summit, and is a member of the NationSwell Council, an exclusive community of service-minded leaders. Previously, Jonathan managed the award-winning THRIVE Accelerator program at SVG Ventures and also hosted/emceed the THRIVE Challenge pitch competitions on global stages such as the Forbes AgTech Summit, PMA Fresh Summit and South By South West (SXSW) to audiences of thousands of people. Pavan Katepall has taught data analytics and web development at UC Berkeley Extension, spoke at Bitcoin 2019 with Edward Snowden and Tim Draper, and has worked at ConsenSys as a Blockhain Architect.

An edtech industry veteran, he has been president and founder of One2OneMate and vice president and co-founder of QuickPAD Technology Corporation and H45 Technology.
