  • Storm Duncan - Global Head of Mobility Technology, Global Head of Technology M&A, Jefferies; Strategic Advisor, Board Member, Investor, Angel Storm

Storm Duncan is the Global Co-Head of Mergers and Acquisitions for Jefferies Technology Group, and Global Head of the firm’s Technology Enabled Transportation group. He has served as Strategic advisor to leading technology companies including Google (YouTube, DoubleClick, et al), Microsoft, SAP, Hewlett-Packard, Walmart.com, LG Semiconductor, Yelp, Intuit and VeriSign, amongst others. Storm has managed businesses ranging in size from startups to over $200 million of annual revenue. He was the CEO/Co-founder of two companies including a venture-backed start-up spun out of MIT that he transformed from a company with $500,000 of debt, no capital and a non-working product into a revenue-producing, venture-funded technology leader in its sector. Prior to leading these two companies, he served as the Head of Technology M&A, and a member of the firm’s Investment Banking Advisory Committee and Managing Director Evaluation Committee at Credit Suisse for over 13 years. Storm is a frequent speaker at technology industry events, guest lecturer at Harvard Law School and Stanford University, and co-authored and co-taught a course on mergers and acquisitions at Stanford Law School, and is frequently requested as a panelist for numerous industry conferences.

 

Jonathan is an investor at Alliance Ventures, the strategic venture arm of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance. He leads the fund’s investments in Israel and his areas of interest include: autonomous vehicle technology, V2X, data-based services and cybersecurity. Prior to joining the Alliance, he led the Connected and Autonomous Vehicles program at Orange Silicon Valley, Orange’s strategic innovation hub, where some of his projects were in the area of V2X connectivity, high-precision localization, telematics and new in-vehicle infotainment experience.

Prior to Orange, Jonathan built a startup in the 3D imaging and printing space, analyzed EMEA financial markets at Bloomberg, and consulted tech giants such as Infosys Technologies and Thales on new product offering and business process optimization. In addition, he advised startups in Israel, the Netherlands and Los Angeles in areas of mobile, entertainment and solar on go-to-market strategy and product development.

Jonathan holds an MBA from IESE Business School in Barcelona, Spain and a BSc. in International Economics and Management from Bocconi University in Milan, Italy.

 

As a media guru, product designer, entrepreneur and investor Susan Akbarpour has over 30 years of hands-on experience in building innovative products and businesses in technology and media.

For the last 10 years after graduating from Stanford GSB, she made it her mission to help traditional media and brick & mortar retail, developing, leveraging and investing on consumer-centric technologies that can streamline consumers' path to purchase, giving these industries significant advantages in their battle with the Amazon's monopoly as well as non effective advertising and content monetization models. Some of these technologies include omnichannel marketplace as-a-service, universal shopping cart, cross-pollinated and contactless commerce, blockchain based influence marketing, image search, tokenized content monetization, shop-able content publishing platform as a service and very recently micro delivery!

Throughout her journey as an entrepreneur, journalist, publisher, investor, board member, community advocate and political fundraiser, Susan has received multiple media, community and business awards, spoken at various conferences and is frequently featured in mainstream media.

     

    Timothy is an early stage VC investor at Softbank Ventures Asia. Timothy’s background spans a spectrum of emerging technologies including mobility, blockchain, autonomous driving, location-based services, enterprise collaboration, and augmented reality.

    Prior to joining Softbank Ventures, he was Head of Platform at startup Theta Labs, working towards implementing a vision of a decentralized peer-to-peer content delivery network, underpinned by blockchain-based rewards. While in graduate school, he spent time at Andreessen Horowitz focused on investments in autonomous systems, AR/VR, and blockchain. At HERE Technologies, Timothy worked on growth strategies in mapping for autonomous driving, trucking logistics/fleet management, and mobility. He started his career at Accenture Labs, Accenture’s Innovation/R&D group, working on initiatives pertaining to human-in-the-loop computing, where he developed solutions in-house and led pilots with clients to bring products from ideation to PoC to market.
