Radhika Malik - Investment Manager, Samsung Catalyst Fund
Radhika Malik is an Investor at the Samsung Catalyst Fund, Samsung’s corporate venture capital fund focused on deep tech and infrastructure as well as emerging applications including mobility, FinTech and healthcare.
Prior to Samsung, Radhika was at Panorama Education (a startup backed by Y Combinator, Mark Zuckerberg and Spark Capital among others), where she built data and analytics products for educators. Radhika has also worked as a software engineer and product manager at large tech companies including Microsoft and Amazon, as well as early stage startups including MindMeld.
Radhika holds a B.S. and M.Eng. from MIT in Computer Science and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Nuno Pedro - Founder, Managing Partner, Strive Capital; Venture Partner, Grishin Robotics; Co-Founder & Co-Host, Tech Deciphered
Nuno Goncalves Pedro is the founder and managing partner of Strive Capital, the first ever quant early-stage VC firm in the Bay area, focused on consumer and enterprise software, with investments in App Annie, Gusto, Rubrik, Enish (IPO), Virta Health, DraftKings, among others. He is also the venture partner at Grishin Robotics, a Sand Hill Road venture capital firm focused on smart hardware and consumer investments, with investments in companies such as Ring (Sold Amazon), Spin (Sold Ford), Zipline, among others. Mamoon Khalid - Venture Partner, Portfolio Manager (AI), Rokk3r; Mentor, StartEd EdTech Accelerator + Incubator; Member of the Board of Advisors, Cryptocurrency & Blockchain Regulatory Task Force
Mamoon Khalid is currently engaged at Rokk3r - a leading Venture Capital and Venture Builder firm in Florida eco-system - as a Venture Partner in the strategy team, which manages a portfolio of 200+ corporate innovation ventures and 50+ investments. Previously he led the cross-border Venture Capital and accelerator arm of Accathon Capital. Mamoon focuses on investments in Cyber Security, FinTech, Computer Vision, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, Drone technologies, VR/AR and SaaS.
Prior to entering Venture Capital, Mamoon led product development and strategy execution for three venture capital backed startups based in NYC. A Computer Engineer at heart with two engineering degrees under his belt, he has previously also served as the Research Lead for a 16-member R&D team in a NFL/NYU Langone Medical Center project, for which he explored the use of machine learning solutions in the treatment of autism and epilepsy detection; as well as symptom analytics.
While a Masters candidate at NYU, he also authored a major journal paper publication on the automated tracking and quantification of a Microsoft Kinect-based Concussion Monitoring System by developing state-of-the-art facial recognition and body motion mapping algorithms. His work got featured in the 22nd Medicine Meets Virtual Reality Conference, Florida (2016).
An advocate for clean energy and smart energy storage/consumption technologies, Mamoon has a special passion for driving strategic growth and business development for startups focused on renewable energy and reforestation. Previously Mamoon has researched solutions for enhancing large-scale renewable energy storage battery lives by up to 300% through device analytics and proprietary (patent pending) optimization algorithms. He holds a green belt in Kyokushin karate and enjoys a competitive game of Squash.
Blake Pennington - Senior Associate, Fusion Fund
Blake Pennington is a Senior Associate at Fusion Fund where he focuses on cybersecurity, infrastructure and enterprise SaaS investments. Blake has a combination of investment, early stage operator, and Fortune 500 consulting experiences. Prior to joining Fusion Fund, he was an Associate at In-Q-Tel where he conducted portfolio management and deal due diligence on deals in enterprise SaaS, data analytics, cybersecurity, video imaging, and communications.
While obtaining his MBA from the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University, Blake focused his career trajectory in the Venture Capital space. He took home 1st place in the 2019 Venture Capital Investment Competition Global Finals, was a Vice President of the Entrepreneurship and Venture Capital Club, and was a Georgetown Venture Fellow at In-Q-Tel.
Prior to business school, Blake was Director of Corporate Development at Profit Velocity Solutions, an early-stage San Francisco startups that provides clients a data driven profit optimization platform. He was also a Senior Consultant at the Celerity Consulting Group which provided project management services, particularly to Pacific Gas & Electric in response to several crises including the San Bruno pipeline explosion. Blake obtained his MBA from Georgetown University and his BBA from Loyola Marymount University.
